Martin E. Racey

Martin E. Racey is my Dad. He was a good-hearted man. He had served his country through a couple of wars while in the United States Airforce and later retired from there after about 24 years of service. His first wife was my Mom-Joyce, and they had three children. I am the oldest. When his military career was ended he returned to his hometown of Romney, West Virginia where he was born & raised. I tried to get him to come to live in NY. He attempted it once, but just could not follow thru and remained in Romney til his passing. Although apart for my adult life, we remained in constant touch by phone, letters & sometimes he would drive to NY to visit or we would go to his house to pick him up and bring him back for a visit. I really miss all those times. I still, sometimes, think of calling him, only to realize that I can not. If only we could bring him back - because he took a piece of my heart with him when he left!
